Season 2 Episode 16 | 5 minutes 32 seconds
With renewed energy, what better to time to revive the show with a new season. Here's a recap of my podcasting journey and I look forward to the new season with more 'no box' thinking.

Topics that were discussed:
Three years ago, I started this podcast as an outlet for my brain chatter. I had questions. I had knowledge to share. I had something to say. I was fascinated with the two sides of digital conversations - the creative and the technical.
It was also the time when the Conversologist story began.
Welcome to the Conversologist podcast, where we talk about the art and science of conversation in the digital space. We know that technology can be a powerful enabler, but communication and emotional connection still need to be at the core. I'm your host, Jam Mayer, and I invite you to converse with me.
Anchor FM was my podcast tool of choice because it was one of the few, probably the only one at that time that allowed my listeners to leave a voice message on the app. A true example of how digital convos should be two way.
Then Spotify bought them, which allowed my podcast to be distributed easily on their platform. Yay! And the headliner app also gave me a chance to highlight the podcast on their blog. Thank you. And next was when Amazon Music sent me an email inviting my podcast to be submitted to their library when they were just starting out.
I had great guests. Nathan, the Cortex Copywriter, who as a neuroscientist, talked about how brain chemistry and neuroscience impacts his copywriting skills. This was a nerd alert. Yeah, true that. So I enjoyed that episode.
Hilary, who shared what it's like to be a conversation designer - the tools, the skills, the challenges. We had Matthew, the chatty chatbot entrepreneur with his 60-second pitch to get chatbot leads. And Andy, who broke down the basics of AI chatbots.
My partner in podcast crime award winning copywriter, editor, scriptwriter, post production producer, cheerleader Rew Shearer, who gave us hacks for designing a chatbot personality and joined me with some more banter around technology and, of course, the ethics of chatbots. I'm grateful that they generously gave their time to share their knowledge and, of course, quench my curiosity. From moving to private spaces on social media to voice search commands and how social audio went kind of mainstream when Clubhouse entered into the picture and to how technology influences who we follow. Season one was riveting. But work and life intervened.
It's no excuse, but it dried up my mojo. I might not have been producing the content, but I was blessed to have been invited as a guest in a couple of podcasts during the quiet period. Rey Baguio in his Digitally Matters podcast and most recently, Craig Constantine in his podcaster community, which is oh, by the way, who is also a fellow Akimbo alumni. Thank you so much for having me. And most importantly to you, my listeners, some of whom have also given feedback and asked when the next episode will be. Your support warms my heart and is greatly, greatly appreciated. So, with renewed energy, what better time to revive it with a new season?
No? Okay, so I guess I'm watching too many TV shows these days. But here we go. We will kick it off with my conversation with award winning comic creator Carlo Vergara, who, by the way, also composed the podcast theme music.
Thank you. I'll mix it up with my own verbal diarrhea. Thank you, Rew. That I hope would start thought provoking conversations in your head or with a friend or colleague to inspire you to think differently and making it a reality. It's not about having to think out of the box, but removing the box entirely. Hmmm...'no box thinking'.
And with that, welcome to season two. I'd love to hear from you on what I should talk about next. Maybe you know someone who would be a great guest in the show. Send in your thoughts, questions or just say hi on LinkedIn. You can just go on to Google and just type in my name and you'll be able to see where or what my LinkedIn profile is.
If you're on Anchor FM, you can leave me a voice message and please hit that follow or subscribe button to be notified of the next episode in your favourite podcast app. Till the next one. Thanks for listening and remember to keep the conversation going.
